We will demonstrate methods and exercises for virtual environments that encourage team members working from different locations and cultural backgrounds to interact and share personal clues. This allows them to build interpersonal relationships leading to trust, tolerance and mutual respect. Our statistical surveys confirm how important these factors are in motivating a virtual team to high performance. The variety of exercises offers solutions for different objectives, sizes of teams, infrastructural requirements, preparation and execution times.
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:(1) apply virtual team-building techniques suited to their environment;
(2) integrate best-practice approaches in virtual teamwork into their virtual collaboration.
